Introduction

Hi All,

My name is Riley, and my pronouns are she/her. I have been given this wonderful space to keep and share a journal. I am hoping that by sharing, I can at least get my thoughts out while maybe giving others a chance to read and develop a stronger understanding, or possibly even relate.

I will use this first entry as an introduction: My name is Riley, but it hasn't always been. I'm a transgender woman. I came out two years ago at the age of 39, but I have been trans my whole life. Yes--born this way πŸ˜‰. I changed my name when I came out to better fit who I am. Some may know my dead (old) name and some may not. No matter though,;I've always been Riley in my heart.

My name isn't the only thing I corrected. I have been on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) since I came out two years ago. My body has been through a lot. Many changes. Many more to come. Every one bringing me closer to feeling comfortable in my skin, finally!

Through this journal you will get to know me better. I will sometimes discuss tough subjects, but I also hope to share uplifting and heartfelt content as well. Being a trans woman can involve hard days, but is also filled with many beautiful ones! Finding yourself and openly living your truth can be life-changing. You may, like I have, see many things differently…feel many things differently.

I invite anyone to read this journal and I will be sure to post content and trigger warnings when appropriate. Please read with an open mind and know that I will always speak my truth here. This will be my safe place to do as such and I am happy to give you all an open window to who I am out of hopes that even one person might find this journal useful.

Thank you for reading and I'm looking forward to writing many more entries here. Trans people just want to be seen and heard as who we are. We are all valid and all loved by someone. We are all worth so much! If you're reading, well, I'm so glad you're here ❤.

My warmest thoughts,

Riley πŸ’•
